All Change!
There have been a number of changes to the entire bus service in Milton Keynes. One of the biggest impacts for our area has been the change in the No 5 service serving the Lakes Estate, Central Bletchley and Fenny Stratford. Without any public consultation, MK Council and Arriva have significantly changed this route resulting in a loss of service to many living in Central Bletchley and Fenny Stratford.
The Town Council has strongly opposed these changes and requested that the No 5 be reinstated to serve Manor Road and we need your help to oppose this change so that the bus service can best serve local residents.
You can pick up a new bus time table from the Town Council offices or download one from www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/transport
The Town Council wants to hear your views on the changes to the bus timetable and to the proposed works at the roundabouts (as detailed above).
We are keeping a comments book in the Town Council offices, please call in and let us have your views on both issues or contact us on MK 649469.
Bletchley and Fenny Stratford Town Council serves a population of approximately 15,000 covering South and East Bletchley – essentially the area south of the A5 and east of the main railway line down to, and including the Lakes Estate and Newton Leys.
The Town Council consists of 17 town councillors who are democratically elected to serve and represent the local people. The Town Council is committed to working with, and for, local residents and every penny raised by the Town Council precept is spent for the residents of the local area.
Bletchley and Fenny Stratford Town Council is recognised as being one of the most progressive local councils in Milton Keynes and we are proud to represent the issues and interests of local people.
The Town Council provides a range of local services for the needs and interests of local people. Over the past few years we have been actively involved with, and supported, a number of projects including:-
- improvements in crime prevention and the environment
- provision and maintenance of several play areas
- provision of play activities during Easter and Summer school holidays,
- working with and supporting many local community groups
- management of Manor Fields, Pinewood Drive and Larch Grove allotments
- management of Bletchley Market
