Planning Information
Milton Keynes Council issues a weekly list of all planning applications submitted to them for consideration.
The Town Council receives copies of planning applications for our parish area and paper copies of these are retained in the office. Members of the public are free to come and view these during our office open hours of 9am – 3pm Monday to Friday.
A response to the planning applications is considered monthly by the Town Council’s Community & Grants Committee. Our meetings are open to the public and councillors welcome the views and opinions of local residents so please feel free to attend a meeting where an application of interest to you will be discussed. These meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm at the Town Council offices.
The views and opinions from the Town Council will then be recorded in our minutes from that meeting and will also be communicated to Milton Keynes Council’s Planning department.
It should be noted that the Town Council is not the deciding body on planning applications; we are in a list of groups and organisations that are consulted and feed back to Milton Keynes Council with our opinions. The actual applications are decided either by MK Council officers or by MK Council’s Development Control Committee.
Objections to planning applications can only be considered on proper planning issues. Milton Keynes Council for example are unlikely to refuse an application because someone doesn’t like the look of it but they could consider a refusal if the appearance of the building was not in keeping with the surrounding area and other buildings.
Milton Keynes Council has issued a document to help with making responses to planning applications and this can be found on:
